Dangers

--Dangerous numbers--

  • Two or more peer passengers more than triples the risk of a fatal crash with a teen at the wheel.

  • Keeping your eyes off the road for more than two seconds, doubles your risk of a car crash

--Dangerous Facts--

  • When passengers ask questions, show you pictures, or turn up the music past a volume you are comfortable with, there is more of a chance to get in a crash than when they don't distract you.

  • Passengers in a car are just as distracting as a cell phone

  • It’s more than how passengers act in the car.  One simulator-based study found that just knowing they’re being observed by friends can cause teen drivers to engage in risky driving behaviors.
